Instructions for Using the Gold Melt Value Calculator:

  1. Enter the BID Price per Ounce:
    • Start by entering the current BID price of gold per ounce in the designated field at the top of the calculator. This price is crucial as it determines the value of the gold based on the current market rate.
  2. Enter the Weights for Each Purity:
    • Below the BID price, you’ll see fields for various gold purities (e.g., 9K, 10K, 14K, etc.).
    • For each purity level that applies to your items, enter the corresponding weight in grams. If you don’t have gold of a specific purity, you can leave the field blank or enter “0”.
  3. Calculate the Melt Value:
    • Once all relevant weights are entered, click the “Calculate” button. The calculator will instantly provide the melt value for each purity level, displaying the total pure gold content, the full spot value, and estimated payouts at different percentages (95%, 96%, and 97.5%).
  4. Review the Results:
    • The results table will show detailed calculations for each entered purity, including the potential payout based on the BID price and selected percentage payout rates.
    • Use this information to assess the value of your gold items.
  5. Clear the Weights:
    • If you need to start over or enter new values, simply click the “Clear Weights” button. This will reset all input fields to zero, allowing you to make new calculations.
